ARTIN CARACASIAN ART PHOTOGRAPHER Artin was born in Athens of Armenian parents. He spent his early life there and studied photography as his chosen career. He then traveled widely in Africa, Asia, Central and south America as a freelance photographer, his photographs being published in many famous international magazines. He then returned to Athens, where he worked as a photojournalist. Coming to Nisyros on vacation, he was immediatly struck by the natural beauty of the island and spent two winters here taking more than two thousand photographs. Realizing that the quality of the light,the unique structures of the villages and the forms of the volcanic landscape would keep him entranced for years to come, he decided to make his home here. He now runs an extremely successful photographic Art Gallery on the island through which he shares his visions of Nisyros with those who take the time to pause and have the eyes to see. |
